In August of 2000, my husband and I moved from Frederick, Md. (where we lived for

twenty-two years) to Heritage Harbour.

I had been an antiques dealer in Frederick for fourteen years, and had spaces in three different antique stores. I called them my ?shops.? I learned that if I cleaned frequently, changed the pieces around, didn?t overload and added items of like color, people would step in to my shop. I wanted it to feel ?welcome.?

This experience came in handy when my husband and I decided to move from Misty Ridge Cove (in Heritage Harbour) to the Reserve Condos. I had worked as sales assistant at the Reserve for over two years; so naturally, I had the unit all picked out and decorated!!

We listed the house in February, when we had freezing temperatures and lots of snow.

I decided to clean, clean, get rid of the excess furniture, move things around and stow the personal items.?I used what I had!!?I wanted it to feel welcome, invite the people in; and let them picture themselves living there.

The second person to look at the house, in the middle of all the snow, bought it on the spot!! The comments I received were, ?You should go into the business of helping other people to sell.? I talked with some of the realtors that I knew and started my staging business a couple of years ago. I?ve worked with Jeannette Lancaster, Champion Realty, Joni Jones and Jane McQuilken, Academy Realty. All had successful sales when I staged their listed properties.

I will give you a written evaluation of jobs that need to be done. Remember, ?Investing a small amount will bring a large return.? I have lists of vendors that can paint, clean, (for that spotless look) and clean carpets; if needed. I will help you pack up personal items; and bring in two men that will move furniture. We will set the ?stage,? adding some accessories, set the dining room table and add some fresh flowers for a great ?Open House.? My fee is $250.00; my promise is to give you my personal experiences; with integrity and honesty to get the job done; and get it sold quickly!!
